You could say that it is the "Overdrive for everything".

It goes great with all kinds of amps, guitars and you can play virtually any style.... it's an incredible effect.

Circuit with some "mojo" and quality components.

Classic controls, "Level and Drive" with a switch to change from "Normal & Mid Boost" mode.

Clipping: The way the Overdrive 70´s achieves saturation is crucial. It does not use a traditional symmetrical or asymmetrical diode clipping circuit, but rather much of the clipping occurs within the operational amplifier (Op-Amp) stage.

Parallel Processing and Transparency: Designed with the goal of not altering the clean, undistorted sound of the guitar and amplifier while adding distortion. This creates a parallel processing effect where the distorted signal blends very musically with the original tone of your guitar.

Tonal Result: This contributes to its reputation as a “transparent” pedal in the sense that it does not “mask” the character of the guitar and amplifier. It maintains articulation and clarity of notes, even with high gain.

The “Switch” (Presence)

This control is particularly interesting; it is mainly considered a mid-boost control. This makes it exceptional for classic rock and for cutting through in a band mix.

The 70's Overdrive is an effect that offers distortion with a lot of texture, crunch, and a great ability to maintain the clarity and character of the underlying equipment. It is one of those pedals to leave “always on” to give body and warmth to your base sound.

At Luxury Tone we have redesigned the circuit and created our own version of the original circuit.

We have used high quality NOS components such as the military grade O-amp 1oY741B, carbon resistors and polyester capacitors widely used in the late 70‘s and 80’s.

The result is spectacular.
